Accounting Manager
Salary Range: $71,000 – $94,000
Location: Fremont, CA
EnerVenue is looking for an Accounting Manager, supporting our day-to-day accounting operations, assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supports financial reporting. This role works closely with the Accounting & Finance and cross-functional teams and helps drive process improvements. Improvement of financial processes, and development of a high performing accounting team. You must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of contributor and should enjoy a fast-paced, start-up environment. The position requires financial, accounting and management skills and the ability to understand the big picture while being detail oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger system, including chart of accounts, journal entries, accruals, adjustments and account reconciliations.
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations, ensuring proper elimination of intercompany balances in consolidation.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly variance analyses.
- Ensure internal controls and policies in financial reporting mechanisms and prevent inaccuracies in accounting statements.
- Assist with internal and external auditors, providing support and documentation for audits and reviews of GL.
- Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for financial reporting and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other teams to support overall financial goals.
- Assist in developing operational procedures and documentation of processes.
- Assist to drive process improvements and system automation initiatives.
- Assist in special projects and initiatives related to GL accounting, system implementations, or process enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in accounting, master’s degree in accounting or MBA preferred, CPA a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in an accounting operations role or other operations position.
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficient in NetSuite system.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
