BESS Sr. Field Service Engineer

Salary Range: $120,000 to $145,000

Location: Fremont, CA or Remote (CA)

The BESS Sr. Field Service Engineer is an either HQ/Fremont, CA or remote, engineer who will report into EnerVenue’s growing field product support organization. This person will be experienced in working with DC electrical equipment installations and maintenance with both hands-on work experience as well as having an engineering background. This position will help shape the organization and will refine our product deployment and field services teams and processes. He/she will be part of a larger operations team that will also develop standardized deployment and product maintenance processes, while supporting product engineering teams with new product deployments. The position will work closely with deployment project managers as well as product engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to new customer installation sites to support installation and start-up of EnerVenue Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot potential electrical and communications issues during commissioning, as appropriate.
  • Provide training to customers and operators on the ESS system and function
  • Interface with customer site teams, contractors, construction and operations teams, inspectors, and customers and coordinate EnerVenue on-site activity
  • Travel to existing customer sites to help identify, troubleshoot and repair electrical, communication, or auxiliary support system issues under warranty.
  • Issue clear communication and reports on observed field conditions, repairs made and propose solutions if not immediately repairable.
  • Own and resolve onsite issues that are beyond the capabilities of the local customer teams and/or EnerVenue remote troubleshooting.
  • Help develop documentation defining procedures for customer installation and commissioning as well as providing constructive feedback for product implementation.
  • Help develop standardized operating procedures

Qualifications

  • Experience
    • 8+ years of experience working on photovoltaic installations, specifically on DC electrical equipment
    • Management of 3rd Party service providers or subcontractors
    • Preferred 5+ years experience working on installation of commercial or utility-scale BESS
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Working knowledge of industrial or power facility construction, operation and maintenance (installation, commissioning, energization/shut-down, performance testing, troubleshooting, etc.)
    • Knowledge of BESS and auxiliary systems (fire detection, suppression, HVAC, etc.)
    • Understanding of and ability to follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety and environmental procedures.
    • Understanding local and national electrical codes.
    • Ability to read and understand Electrical schematics and prints.
  • Safety
    • Familiarity with LOTO procedures of BESS, DC Photovoltaic systems or inverters, and energization/de-energization procedures,
    • Ability to understand, follow, and create Job Hazard Analyses
    • Knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards.
    • Preferred NFPA 70E and OSHA 30 training
  • Analytical and Communication
    • Clear verbal, written, and presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions
    • Strong customer service mindset
    • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
    • Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products)
    • Self-directed and accountable, able to think critically about processes and issues. 
  • Physical work
    • Ability to use multi-meter and diagnose basic, low-voltage electrical issues
    • Ability to use mechanical tools for typical electrical connections, enclosures and battery cells
  • Other
    • 0-90% travel US and international
    • Able to regularly take assignments that require significant overnight travel, including weekends and holidays.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business preferred.

Sales and Customer Support Specialist (Fluent in Mandarin)

Salary Range:  AUD $84,000 to $94,000

Location: Perth, Adelaide, or remote (Australia)

Key Responsibilities

  • Post-sales Customer Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for post-sales customer inquiries, providing high-quality support and troubleshooting assistance for orders and account-related issues.
  • Salesforce Management: Maintain and update customer data, generate reports, and ensure the integrity of our Salesforce CRM system.
  • Order and Invoice Processing: Create sales orders and invoices and load all invoices into the EnerVenue ERP system.
  • Financial Coordination: Track and ensure timely receipt of customer deposits and payments.
  • Logistics Support: Act as a key liaison for our manufacturing team in China and our headquarters in the US on all logistics, order fulfillment, and administrative matters.
  • Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative assistance to the commercial team, including scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation.
  • Marketing Support: Perform administrative functions in support of marketing activities, including event coordination, collateral and presentation support, measurement and reporting, and document editing.
  • Travel, Training & Conferences: Travel as required to EnerVenue manufacturing facilities in China and other locations and office in Fremont, California for training and operational support including attending conferences when requested to do so.
  • Translating: Provide verbal and document translation
  • Qualifications degree in Marketing or associates degree in relevant field a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, advanced skills with Excel
  • A strong desire and willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Experience with CRM software, especially Salesforce is an advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems is a significant advantage, but not a must
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global, cross-functional team
